What is the difference between E-Commerce and Web Presence?
E-Commerce is a way to conduct business or to add to your existing business. Sales are transacted over the internet. You might sell to someone down the street or even to someone in another country if you desire. This could be from selling at a retail level or wholesale level. You could even be the middle man and not have to stock products. For the most part, E-Commence involves sales, online to someone or some other business. To get E-Commerce on the internet, what are my first steps?
E-commerce is different from web presence. E-commerce is actually selling products over the internet. Sales can be anything you want to sell. Payments can be easily made by the use of credit cards, or sending the parcel via COD. This will be discussed later.
The first thing you need, is of course, something to offer. What you have to offer over the internet is either not available to the person in their home town or you can sell a better product or service at a lower price than a competitor.

A Domain name can be your company name or it can be the name of the product you are selling as long is not already taken by someone else. How many hits can I get per Gigabyte?
Monthly Transfer
Monthly data transfer refers to the amount of information that you transmit
from your site to the person requesting it. Each time a web page or a
picture is viewed by a visitor, it adds to your total amount of monthly
data transfers.
If the average HIT is approximately 10k, this means that a transfer limit of 1.0 Gigabyte would allow 100,000 hits.
A traffic limit of 3.2 gigabytes would be equal to 350,000 hits. (Note: very few sites use that
much information). You can monitor your monthly transfers in your control panel
that you control. If you use more than the standard transfer rate, you can be
billed for over usage. To avoid this, the person managing
the site will put different parts under different domain names to make it even
more cost effective, but for 99% of the web sites it is unlikely that you will exceed the traffic limits.
